I figured a map was the best way to display these locations to tourists and people who are unfamiliar with the city. After researching what was available to do in the city I categorised the activities. On the reverse side of the map there is a short bit of information about each activity, including the location and opening hours.
This was a fully self guided project that I completed in my final year of studying graphic design. With Ireland being famous for its drinking culture and pubs, oftentimes people who do not drink alcohol are stuck for ideas on things to do late at night in Dublin City. I wanted to give people an alternative option to a night out in the City.
I created all of the icons. I wanted to keep them clean and simple, so I opted for line drawings. These icons will look good in small scale. My chosen colour palette is fun and sophisticated.
Some initial ideas of icons can be seen below as well as some sketches and concepts for the project.
The final design.
